tips and tricks for ludo empire

This one is certainly not rocket science. Before playing any game, you should be well-versed with each rule and regulation that defines its scope. No Ludo game tricks will help you if you play the wrong turns because you were unaware of a particular rule.

To help you remain up to date with the latest changes in the game, here's a list of all the fundamental rules that you must know before you battle it out with a fellow Ludo enthusiast:

    • You can only start a traditional game of Ludo if there are a minimum of 2 players or a maximum of 4 players willing to participate. Three players can battle it out as well if they each pick a different color to represent.
    • You will have to roll out a six or a one on your dice to free one of your pawns/gotis from the pocket. A pawn/goti will only be free to advance further once you unlock them from the team's pocket/base.
    • The movement of your pawns/gotis will be dictated by what you roll on the dice. If you roll out a 4, then the pawn/goti can only advance four positions forward, provided that it is free to move.
    • The player shall get an extra turn whenever they roll a six on their dice.
    • Rolling three consecutive 6s on your dice will lead to the dismissal of your turn. In such a case, the move shall be null, and the opponent shall get their turn instead.
    • You can eliminate the progress of your opponent's pawn/goti by landing on the same square as them. In such a case, the defeated pawn/goti must start from the beginning. A 6 or a 1 on the dice will be required to unlock the pawn's/goti's movements again.
    • To avoid having your pawn/goti eliminated, you can form a block by placing two of your pawns/gotis on the same square. In such a situation, your pawns/gotis will be immune and safe from getting eliminated if the opponent's pawn/goti lands on the same square.
    • There are several unique markings on different Ludo boards. Some of these markings represent dangerous squares that will take your pawn/goti back to the start. Other similar markings represent "safe zones" - the squares where your pawns/gotis will have protection against elimination.
    • When you reach the colored columns of your team, you will have to roll a specific digit on your dice to employ any movement. For instance, if you need three on your dice to get to the center square, then your pawn/goti can move only if you get a three or a digit less than three on the dice.
    • The game will get its winner when the first player manages to guide all 4 of its pawns/gotis to the center squares. The game shall continue if there are more than two members yet to finish the game. This will help determine the runner-ups.

Do you have a unique Ludo playing style?

No?

Then you should get one.

There's a reason why the top players know how to win a Ludo game every time. They follow a specific playing style and base their strategy around that. Do remember that you won't always play Ludo online with friends. Sometimes, the game will matter a lot, especially if you reach the latter stages of a tournament.

Thus, a defined style of play is essential for consistent winning streaks.

There are two major playing styles in Ludo:

The first is 'The Killer Style'. In this, the Ludo player opts to finish off the opponent's pawn/goti before they start concentrating on the center square. Doing so involves unlocking all your pawns/gotis and keeping them in strategic positions to land the killing blow. This strategy slows off the opponent and allows you to skip into the center square easily.

The second is 'The Gangster Style'. More practical of the two, gangsters move their pawns/gotis in pairs of two. The first pair advances quickly and frantically to the center squares. The second pair will be placed in strategic positions to eliminate the opponent's pawns/gotis.

One of the rookie mistakes of any Ludo player is when they try to get one of their pawns/gotis past the finishing line first. It's better to unlock all the pawns/gotis by rolling 6s and then moving to the center squares. It will allow you to strategize your movements better and protect your pawns/gotis against elimination.

Don't make frantic turns. If your opponent is ahead of you, it's not a bad thing. Just think of it as an opportunity to eliminate them. Slow and steady will win the game.

Playing offensive is the best way to win. Try to keep your pawns/gotis as close behind the opponent as possible. Strike whenever possible. Sometimes, even eliminating one pawn/goti at the right time can win you the match.

Creating blocks by having two of your pawns/gotis in the same square grants you protection. Always move in pairs of two and create a blockade when the opponent is sniffing behind you.

Rules of Ludo Empire:
Online Ludo

ludo empire golder border bottom

Online Ludo is virtually the same as the traditional board game. If you have played it with your friends, you'll have no difficulty figuring out how to play Ludo online. Ludo Empire employs the same rules as the traditional, classic board game and brings you the same nostalgic experiences in the shape of an online Ludo game.

Here are all the rules to play Ludo that you need to know before hitting your first game against an opponent.

    • A Ludo game will only commence if there are 2, 3, or 4 players participating.
    • Your pawn will only be free to move if you unlock it from the pocket after rolling out a six or a one on the dice.
    • The value of the dice's digits will determine your pawn's movement.
    • A player gets an extra turn after rolling a six on their dice.
    • If you roll three consecutive 6's, your turn will be discarded.
    • If you eliminate an opponent's pawn by landing on their square, the defeated goti/pawn needs to restart from their team's pocket, and you will get an extra turn.
    • You can form a block against your opponent by landing two of your pawns on the same square. When you have formed a blockade, your opponent won't be able to eliminate your pawns even if they land on the same square.
    • In some special, unique Ludo boards, you will find markings that may look like a crown or a circle. These special squares will send your pawn back to the pocket if you land on them.
    • When you reach the colored squares, you will need to hit the digits on your dice required to get to the centre square.
    • The player can only win a classic Ludo match by having all 4 of its pawns safely advanced to the end line or the centre square.

Now that you know the rules, here are some critical Ludo tips that can help you win effortlessly:

    • Unlock all your pawns as soon as possible, as having more pawns will give you more options to play at each turn.
    • Try tailoring your opponent's pawn to have the best shot at eliminating them.
    • Quickly move your pawns to the colored squares to grant them protection.
    • Strategize every move before you make the play.
